Too many Cardiff Taxis on the road?
Cardiff Taxi | Everybody knows that the UK and indeed the rest of the World is being greatly effected by the economic down turn. Even the Cardiff Taxi trade has not escaped from the effects. Many Cardiff Taxi drivers believe that there may be a more significant cause of their lack of earnings.
To many Cardiff Taxis on the Road? Without a shadow of a doubt – if you ask most Cardiff Taxi drivers, but what can be done about this problem?
Over 300 Cardiff Taxi Hackney drivers jammed city centre rushhour traffic recently in a protest over the numbers of Hackney drivers. This just seemed to add to the problems.
The cabbies are upset about the lack of taxi ranks in the middle of the city and the number of new cab licenses being issued by Cardiff council.
Cardiff Taxi drivers are also unhappy with the one way system in St Mary Street and the sheer amount of roadworks currently taking place in and around Cardiff.
Currently Hackney cabs in Cardiff cause chaos at the cities central station with the shear numbers of cars causing jams at ranks – despite being given a new rank on the side of the station.
The main responsibility falls on the City Council to act, though at the moment little seems to be happening. Watch this space……….
